Chapter 2.1 – The Gym

The next day, it was Rose’s first day as head of the house. Leah was grateful that she didn’t have to deal with any of that, now. That she only had to put up with work so that she could get to the top. And Leah rarely saw Farrah, anymore. Even with her shrink and her therapy, Leah wasn’t sure her social anxiety and avoidant personality disorder were getting any better.

First things first, Rose headed down to the warehouse to get a job. Leah knew this very well, as it was hard enough to believe that two of her girls that were evil had non-evil jobs, and she had always known that one of her daughters would end up one of the warehouse members. Rose was glad she wouldn’t have to lie to her mother, it made her feel utterly guilty. She was also not scared in the slightest that Poppy was going to have her arrested. Rose would worry about that when she was empress of evil and Poppy was leader of the free world.

Rose was hired on the spot. Once the people saw that she was attractive, rich and evil they knew she had potential. No one would suspect her, as long as she laid pretty low, and, if doing it correctly, Rose could charm someone into the warehouse so that they didn’t have to do it at gunpoint.

One thing that made her boss, Nick Alto, question hiring her was her lack of physical skill. So Rose headed down to the gym straight after being hired. Maybe I’ll get lucky like Tyler and find my “true love” here. Rose smirked playfully as she got onto the treadmill. But nope, there were no hunky guys around. And worse, Rose kept tripping and sliding off the treadmill. I thought Poppy was supposed to be the clumsy one! Rose thought as she lost her footing on the treadmill for the fourth time.

When she was struggling to get back up on the treadmill, Rose heard a voice from behind her laugh. Rose turned around to see who was laughing at the future empress of evil, and her eyes landed on Kelly, the woman who left Tyler at the altar. Immediately, Rose hopped off the treadmill and slapped her.

“That’s for leaving Tyler at the altar while you were cheating on him.” Rose said simply.

“What the hell, bitch!” Kelly said, grabbing a chunk of Rose’s short black, wirey hair and pulling it. She pulled it all the way down so Rose smashed her forehead into the workout machine.

“Aww, hell!” Rose said, rubbing her forehead. Kelly snickered and started to walk away, but she didn’t get away in time because Rose grabbed her boot-black hair and pulled it out. Before anyone could say Peanut Butter, the two were on top of each other, biting, kicking and there was much more hair pulling. The occasional punch was thrown here and there, as well.

By the end of the fight, the back of Kelly’s head was bald and Rose was clearly the victor. “Have fun using Rogane foam.” Rose chirruped before jogging out of the building. No way she was going to stick around for more of the ever-so-fun Kelly Heinz.

“How did Tyler ever fall for a bitch like that?” Rose thought out loud as she jogged to the beach. As she got there, Rose started to feel a gnawing hunger in her stomach so as soon as she had soaked up some sun, as the sun started to set, she set out to the Bistro. Still jogging.

After she had finished eating her Key Lime Pie (very nutritious, I know), Rose felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around to see a man with tan skin, gray eyes and beautiful copper hair smiling at her. He stuck his hand out,

“Hey, I’m Ben.” His gorgeous gray eyes locked onto Rose’s.

“Rose.” Rose smiled, shaking the man’s hand.

And that was the beginning. The two chatted for hours and hours about random nonsense. Actually, their conversation drifted to whether or not they wanted to have children. And lucky for Rose, Ben said that he wanted to have kids!

Rose also found out that Ben was a lyricist in the electric rock department of the local theatre, and that he was…good… So when he asked where Rose worked, she didn’t know how to answer.

2. Crummy chapter, I know. But if I was to continue it on, it’d be like 7000 bazillion words. :B
